This image containing various Geometric shapes and stars is basically divided into 9 sections - hinting at the 9 higher Sefirot (3 x 3).  The fractal repetitions within each section hints at the 10th Sefirah Malchut.

Although Jewish people often claim the 6-pointed star as our own and call it a Jewish Star or the Magen David, and it does appear on the Israeli flag, this star is in fact used by  many cultures around the world - and playing with Geometry is a universal pleasure.

The five-pointed star is a wonderful Geometric shape full of Golden Ratio relationships (associated with the irrational number Phi 1.618....).  This ratio is found in spirals and flower forms, in our bodies, and is often used (intentionally or naturally) in Art.

The number 5 has many Jewish associations as well - The 5 Books of Moses; the 5 Partzufim (Faces of God) of the Lurianic Kabbalah, which are associated with 5 levels of soul.  If you divide the 360 degrees of a circle by 5, you get 72  - a number associated with Names of God (see my 'Tapestry of Holy Names' and '72 Holy Names').

It is also interesting to me that the 3 Mother Letters (Aleph, Mem and Shin that I use in many of my pictures) are the 1st, 13th and 21st letters of the Hebrew alphabet.  And all of these numbers are members of the Fibonacci sequence (1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 1321, 34, 55, 89, ...) which is closely related to Phi and the Golden Ratio.
