Ezekiel Meditation

A vision of the Divine Merkava is described in detail in Ezekiel Chapter 1. The Hebrew word מרכבה (Merkava) means a vehicle; or a combination (of abilities). The Kabbalah teaches that the more one becomes aware of one’s Eternal Soul, the more one sees oneself as a Merkava for the Shechinah. The Tree of Life Diagram in this drawing has 13 Sefirot (instead of the traditional 10) that form two Magen Davids embedded in a large figure 8. 13 is the Gematria of the Hebrew word for 'One' אחד (echad). 13 is also the Gematria of the Hebrew word for 'Love' אהבה (ahava). Putting these two 13s together, we get 26 - the Gematria of the 4 Letters of the Holy Name YHVH (10+5+6+5).
This drawing is based on a meditation a special friend described to me that led to this picture. He does it every morning after prayer with his talit (prayer shawl) and tefilin (phylacteries) on. You might want to try this yourself. "Sit comfortably and breathe.
First, feel energy above your head and then bring the energy down to each of your shoulder areas and open the energy there (with the Name יהוה YHVH). That is the first triangle of the first Magen David. Second, feel the energy of your heart and then raise it to just above both sides of your forehead to create the second triangle that completes the first Magen David.
Third, come back to your heart and bring the energy down to your sexual area and open the two energy regions on each side. This creates the first triangle of the second Star. Fourth, feel energy at your base and bring it up to each side of your abdomen to create the second triangle that completes the second Magen David.
Fifth, feel the center of the upper Magen David and open the energy of intuition - ‘the third eye’ - that is there. Sixth, find the center of the lower Magen David and open the energy of power and procreation that is there.
Seventh, allow those two six-pointed Stars to become circles or spheres that rotate in opposite directions. And, eighth, connect the two spheres with the Infinite energy loop - that is the figure 8 - and feel the inter-connectedness of the two spheres wrapping them both as if with a moving talit.
Finally, in each and every aspect of this meditation always come back to your heart center and feel the Holy Name YHVH as the core of everything you are - where you start and where you end - what always Was, Is and Will Be. The Name is truly everything - especially when it is applied to the heart. It's the key that unlocks the door and releases the Love".
