As Radiant as the Stars

"God
took Abraham outside and said, 'Look at the sky and count
the stars, if you can count them.' And God said to him,
'your descendants will be like these'" (Genesis 15:5).
God's promise in the above verse (which frames this poster)
is usually interpreted that Abraham and Sarah's children
will be as numerous as the stars.
However, it can also be interpreted that their descendants
will be as radiant as the stars.
The rainbow-clad, comet-like figures soaring above the
stars represent Abraham and Sarah. Six star-children,
dressed in one of the colors of the rainbow, form a six-pointed
Star of David. Abraham and the male star-children have
red Shins in their faces.
The Hebrew letter Shin represents Fire in the Kabbalah,
and is intuitively related to a masculine, vertical orientation
- 'standing up'.
Sarah and the female have blue (final) Mems in
their faces. Mem represents Water, and is associated with
a feminine, horizontal orientation - 'sitting down'.
In the center of the Star of David are two star-children
dressed in brown. Here, the male figure is sitting down,
while the female figures is standing up. This represents
the complete integration of masculine and feminine, vertical
and horizontal orientations.
