This drawing is based on the teachings
of Rabbi Isaac Luria, the great 16th Century Tzfat
Kabbalist.
He described the supernal world as a ‘Family’
of Partzufim (Faces).
The large face at the top of this drawing represents
Grandfather (Arikh Anpin) who blesses
his entire Family.
On his arms are three levels of Fathers (Abba)
and Mothers (Imma) that channel Wisdom,
Understanding and Knowledge to their dark-haired Son
(Zer Anpin). When Zer Anpin is mature
he is called Israel. When he is immature he is called
Jacob. Israel’s wife is Leah, the older daughter.
Jacob’s wife is Rachel, the younger Daughter
(Nukba).
